Gundam Unicorn

Yesterday I was amazed at the first two episodes of this series. I think I might have loved everything about it so far...the animation, the colors, the acting, the mobile suit models, the music. My only problem is that they're taking so long for each episode to come out. If you all haven't checked it out yet, I highly recommend it.

If you have seen it, what do you think of it so far? Love it? Hate it?

Overall I think that Unicorn is very good. Particularly, the animation is amazing, and it seems to be taking the fate of spacenoids/Zeon remnants in an interesting, sensible direction. I have a few problems with it, though they are really more like nitpicks. Full Frontal, the second coming of Char, has a distractingly stupid name, and his character design just seems weird to me. In fact, a lot of the Sleeve's aesthetics just feel a little bit off, for what I expected a Neo Zeon faction to be like. But even if the 18th century uniforms and the explicitly Nazi Stormtrooper/Zaku clone grunt MS designs aren't what I would have preferred, in the context of the OVA they feel consistent and are pulled off very well.

I mean, it's hard to complain that the Geara Zulu has strayed just a little bit too far from the classic designs I like when the scenes where it fights are astounding. And right next to the Geara Zulu is the beautiful Kshatriya mobile suit, which won my love almost instantly. Bulky mobile suits are pretty great, in my opinion, and this one is a great, modern Zeon design.

And as for the waiting time, I'm not complaining about that. The longer they take, the less we have to worry about cutting corners animation-wise.

I've just seen numerous promotional videos of the series...I've always wanted to check it out though to see some more zeon/ef action.

I frankly was satisfied with how they wrapped it up with Char's Counterattack. Love that movie!

Hahah yeah that name kind of threw me off guard when I first heard it. I figured I had just misheard it the first time it was uttered. Then there is.....his hair...which I personally can do without. However, the Sinanju was great to watch in action and I love the design of it.

Char's Counterattack is my second favorite animated installment of EF/Zeon UC events. You should definitely check out Unicorn Leo.

Although I'm not the biggest Universal Century fan, I decided to give this one a chance. I'd have to agree in saying, it's actually good. The music is rockin.
